BRIAN GRADUATES RIDER'S EDGE® COURSE
Brian Nash, a dedicated parts employee for Surdyke Harley-Davidson completed the Rider’s Edge® Safety & Training Course on March 8th. Brian is completely new to motorcycling, and after finishing the course he stated, “Everyone should take this course, whether you’re a beginner or not. It is super informative.” His new found riding freedom even inspired him to get a new tattoo in commemoration of his experience. So if you are thinking about learning to ride, feel free to stop in and talk to Brian or click here to register for a class.
| A SOLDIERS STORY
From Tim Surdyke; Recently Don and Kelly Ferguson just traded a 2008 FXDB for a new 2010 FLHX. That is great. But that is not the story.
Don had left the Marines, but then re-enlisted into the Army National Guard.
Don just got home for a 2 week leave from the point of the spear in Afghanistan. His unit's job is to clear the roads of IED's. Like in the new movie "The Hurt Locker." He said the movie is a pretty good picture of what it is like, except that they wouldn't be cutting wires so quick when they pick up a daisy chain of wires to multiple IED's.
I was proud to send our autographed flag with him back to his unit. He said he would fly it proudly also. It meant a lot to him to know that people at home care about what he and others like him are doing. We need to go out of our way even more than ever to let our military know that they are the good guys.
There was a lot of stuff he told me about what is going on in Afghanistan that I shouldn't put in here. It's a brutal fight, and our guys have one hand tied behind their back.
